How Much Does Chiropractic Care Cost in Springfield, MO?

How Much Does Chiropractic Care Cost in Springfield, MO?
Kevin hesitated to call because he assumed chiropractic was expensive. When he found out about our transparent pricing and self-pay options, he felt comfortable moving forward. "I wish I'd called sooner," he said after his third visit when he was already feeling much better.
Cost shouldn't be a barrier to getting help. Let me be transparent about what chiropractic actually costs.

My Fees

Here's what you'll pay at Whole Heart:
New patient visit: $140-$220 (comprehensive exam, assessment, first treatment)
Established patient visit: $70-90 (depending on what's included)
These are my standard prices. I offer a 10% time-of-service discount for self-pay patients.

I also do acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, and soft tissue work at various fees depending on what's needed.
For exact pricing on your specific situation, call and we'll discuss.

Insurance Coverage

I'm currently in-network with Medicare. If you have Medicare, we bill directly — you pay your copay/deductible, and I bill Medicare for the rest. Medicare does not cover exam costs, only
I'm working on becoming in-network with BCBS and Aetna. Call to ask about current status.
I don't take PI or worker's comp unless you're already an established patient, in which case we can work something out.

Self-Pay vs. Insurance

If you have insurance:
  • You might pay a copay ($15-50 per visit depending on plan)
  • You might have a deductible to meet first
  • Insurance covers a percentage or full cost after deductible
  • You might have a visit limit or maximum medical improvement limit per year
If you're self-pay:
  • You pay the fee listed above
  • You get a 10% time-of-service discount
  • No claim forms to deal with
  • No visit limits
Sometimes self-pay is cheaper than insurance with a high deductible. Sometimes insurance is better. It depends on your specific plan.

How Many Visits Will You Need?

This dramatically affects total cost.
Acute conditions (sudden onset): 3-8 visits over 2-4 weeks. Cost: $150-500 self-pay (after discount)
Subacute (medium term): 8-15 visits over 4-8 weeks. Cost: $400-1,000 self-pay
Chronic conditions: 12-24+ visits over 8-12 weeks or longer. Cost: $700-1,500+ self-pay
Some people then move to maintenance care (1-2 visits per month) long-term.

The key: I'll give you an honest estimate of how many visits I think you'll need before starting treatment.

What Affects Cost

  • What services you need: Basic adjustment vs. adjustment plus soft tissue work
  • Your condition: Simple vs. complex
  • How many visits: Acute vs. chronic
  • Whether you need imaging: X-rays add cost
  • Insurance vs. self-pay: Different pricing

Payment Options

Currently: I accept payment at time of service (self-pay with 10% discount, or insurance billing).
I don't currently offer payment plans, but I'm flexible. If cost is a barrier, let's talk. I can work with people to figure something out.

Cost Comparison: Is Chiropractic Worth It?

Consider alternatives:
Ongoing medication: $20-100+ per month = $240-1,200/year indefinitely
Multiple doctor/specialist visits: $150-300 per visit × multiple providers = expensive quickly
Surgery: $10,000-100,000+ plus recovery time plus potential complications
Chiropractic course: $1,000-1,500 = addresses the problem, often avoiding medication or surgery
From a cost-benefit perspective, chiropractic is often the most affordable option that addresses the root cause.

Making It Affordable

Tips:
  • Ask about the 10% self-pay discount
  • Check if your insurance covers chiropractic
  • Get an estimate upfront so you know what to expect
  • Discuss which services are truly necessary vs. optional
